Coaches Corner #11

I am humbled by the greatness that surrounds me.

Great athletes, great games, great families, great food, great signs, great goal posts, great score keeping, great refs, great volunteers, great fans, a great facility, great playing, a great assistant coach and a great day!

Our first and toughest match was a 1-6 defeat against the Kryptonite Pride. Congrats to Josh for putting one in against a powerhouse posse of players! Next was a 5-0 victory over the Bombers with Josh scoring a hat trick before exiting the match. Hunter also had a brace (2 goals) in the second half and keepers Zach and Joseph both had shut out halves. Ending the day with a 2-2 tie against the Rockets was awesome (we will vanquish our opponents next time).

Matt came through with a goal and Hunter had a goal and an assist in that match up. Kudos to Joseph for playing some shut down ball in the second half of that game. Tyler and Jessica both helped to keep the pressure on during their time on the court and Joe made his power soccer debut today. A great time was had by all!

Next weekend it looks like we are in San Jose at the Bascome Center on SATURDAY APRIL 25 for two matches at 11:15 and 1:45 - I will confirm that with our Division Coordinator and send out another e-mail once our times and opponents are confirmed.

There will be no practice on Sunday April 26. We will practice on Sunday May 10 - Mother’s Day and we will host another champagne and sparkling cider brunch prior to practice for our awesome moms and their awesome kids! Details to follow.

Thank you all for being so great!
